Dear Mr. President @officialABAT,
I write with respect, but without illusion.
Do not place excessive faith in the State Governors. Too many of them are not partners in national renewal. They are part of the problem. Their loyalty is rarely to the people. It is to their own survival, their own succession, and their own war chest.
With more resources in their hands and inherited debts substantially lifted, visible improvement in citizens’ lives should already be unmistakable. It is not. What has grown most conspicuously is not security, not schools, not hospitals, and not local government capacity. It is their political machinery.
Local Government autonomy remains empty talk. The insecurity that still scars many states is not merely a security failure. It is evidence of inefficiency, criminal negligence, and, in too many cases, executive culpability.
They cannot be trusted as reliable partners in the Renewed Hope agenda. Prepare a clear contingency plan and keep it ready.
These governors have mastered the art of collecting power and money while delivering neither safety nor development. They must not be allowed to hold the nation’s progress hostage. Lead independently.
Nigeria cannot wait for men who govern their pockets better than their people.
You have done everything humanly possible to move this country forward. Citizens can now see the bottleneck clearly: too many governors are blocking the pipeline between federal effort and local result.
Publish a transparent monthly database of FAAC allocations. Let the people see what arrived, and let them judge what disappeared.
A nation is not a buffet for political gluttons. Stop letting them eat first and explain later.
