Some speeches are not merely delivered; they leave a message that deserves to be remembered.
At the Faculty of Law, Northwest University, Kano, Mr. Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, delivered a thought-provoking lecture on “Peace, Leadership & Nation Building,” challenging Nigerians—particularly the younger generation—to see nation-building not as the responsibility of government alone, but as a collective responsibility.
His message was clear: Nigeria is not a lost cause, and Africa is not a condemned enterprise.
He reminded us that sustainable peace, justice and development require strong institutions, respect for the rule of law, humanitarian values, economic opportunity, civic responsibility and leadership rooted in service rather than personal entitlement.
What stood out most was his message to young Nigerians: our education, technology, creativity and global connectivity must be transformed into constructive participation in governance, public service, innovation and nation-building.
The future of Nigeria will not be built by cynicism or division, but by character, competence, patriotism, integrity and responsible leadership.
The river of our national destiny will not dry up. It will flow wider, deeper and stronger—carried by a generation determined to build a more peaceful, just, united and prosperous Nigeria.
