2027: Forum hails Tinubu over Olufemi Adekanmbi’s appointment

The Forum of Executive Directors of Nigeria’s River Basin Development Authorities (FEDNRBDA) has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Dr. Olufemi Adekanmbi, Managing Director of the Benin-Owena River Basin Development Authority, as Coordinator (South-West), Security and Intelligence Directorate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 elections, and has congratulated him on the role.
In a statement, the Forum’s Chairman, Ambassador Adegboyega Bamisile, Executive Director of Finance at Benin-Owena RBDA, described the appointment as recognition of Adekanmbi’s commitment, competence and contributions to the nation’s political development and stability. He said the appointment comes as the party mobilises stakeholders and consolidates structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking to journalists on Sunday in Abuja, Bamisile and the Forum also commended Deputy Director General Hon. James Faleke and the APC Presidential Campaign Council leadership for entrusting Adekanmbi with the strategic position.
Bamisile noted that Adekanmbi’s new role places him at the centre of efforts to bolster security intelligence, coordination and strategic engagement across the South-West, and expressed confidence that his grassroots mobilisation experience will advance the campaign’s goals.
“Dr Olufemi Adekanmbi has consistently shown capacity, loyalty and dedication to progressive governance,” Bamisile said. “We urge him to view this appointment not only as an honour but as a call to greater service — to promote unity, peaceful political engagement and effective stakeholder coordination ahead of 2027. We are confident he will bring these qualities to his new assignment.”
Also of particular note is the nomination and appointment of Mr Ayobami Feyisetan Oyalowo, the Forum’s Public Relations Officer and Executive Director of Finance and Administration at the Ogun-Osun RBDA, as Presidential Campaign Spokesperson III. Citing both appointments, the Forum noted that the South-West is a strategically important region in Nigeria’s political landscape. “This appointment presents an opportunity to deepen collaboration among party leaders, security stakeholders, grassroots organisations and other relevant actors, strengthening the APC’s strategic operations in the region and supporting preparations for the 2027 presidential election,” Bamisile said.
The Forum described the appointment as further evidence of confidence in capable Nigerians contributing to the administration’s political objectives and congratulated both appointees, wishing them success in their new assignment.
